About

The Wharf is proud to work alongside client schools around East Anglia, providing in school tuition to many students. We also offer a full private service, on site in Norwich which is constantly growing and developing.

We provide a vibrant and creative space for our students to learn, The Wharf offers music tuition in numerous disciplines including Singing, Piano, Guitar, Drumming, Saxophone and Music Theory as well as running short courses and a Youth Choir. We welcome people from all ages and abilities, as our music tuition is provided by our specialist tutors, who have a wide range of musical backgrounds.

The Wharf was noted as one of Norfolk’s most exciting new businesses in the EDP Future 50 list for 2012. A huge honor for the business, this is testament to the hard work of the staff and students at The Wharf who are determined to continue building on the great start we’ve had in our new location. Current success to be noted by students include reaching the finals of Britain’s Got Talent, taking lead roles within the Norfolk Youth Music Theatre and Norwich Operatic Society productions, attending Trinity Laban Conservatoire to study further and studying ABRSM and RockSchool exams…continuing to hold a 100% pass rate.

The Wharf moved into St Martin’s at Oak in May of 2012, working alongside the Norwich Historic Churches Trust to bring the church back to a useable standard and create a space suitable for learning and performing. Previously known as St Martin’s Homeless Shelter, the church was unfortunately left in a sad state before Sam and Tori took the building on.

The renovation is an ongoing process, however work to date includes the addition of a full fire alarm, installation of facilities, the creation of two bespoke sound proofed teaching rooms in the South Aisle and also the renovation of the Chancel area of the building into an office space and kitchen.

St Martin’s at Oak gives our students the space needed to not just learn in an inspiring environment, but also to perform. Our Main Hall with its beautiful roof and Baby Grand Piano, is the ideal place for our regular student showcases and recitals. The sense of space here is wonderful, with our calm churchyard feeling like a little piece of countryside in the middle of the city.
